Christian Unity

The Christian Unity Workshop is where I help church leaders move from affirming unity in theory to practicing it in the realities of their city. Designed for pastors, elders, ministry staff, and key influencers, this workshop builds a theological spine for unity and then connects that theology to practical steps your congregation can take.

I begin by opening Scripture to show that unity is not merely relational niceness or institutional merger, but a central part of Christ's prayer and the apostles' teaching. Together, we examine how division-racial, denominational, cultural, and class-based-distorts the body of Christ and weakens your public witness. I then invite participants to reflect honestly on how these dynamics show up in their church story.

From there, the workshop becomes highly interactive. Through guided discussion, case studies, and structured exercises, I help leaders identify specific barriers to unity in their context: mistrust among pastors, fear of compromise, theological misunderstandings, or past conflicts. I offer practical tools for addressing each barrier, such as covenantal agreements among leaders, shared rhythms of prayer, and frameworks for discernment when churches differ.

Because my own journey has spanned multiple denominations, racial contexts, and public roles, I am able to speak concretely about how unity can be pursued without erasing real differences. I show how a geographic, citywide understanding of the Church allows congregations to maintain their distinctives while sharing responsibility for mission.

Participants leave with a written set of next steps: preaching and teaching themes, relational priorities with other churches, and potential collaborative initiatives. This workshop can also serve as a gateway into deeper engagements such as Church Unification Planning or Denominational Collaboration Consulting.

The result is a leadership community that understands unity as a joyful act of obedience to Christ, equipped with tools to begin embodying that unity in ways their congregations and neighbors can actually see.
