In this address, Lonnie clearly explains that the answer is not found on the political right or the political left, but that true reconciliation is centered on the cross of Jesus Christ. Lonnie's message graciously challenges listeners to think biblically and calls the church to leave its' political idolatry to pursue a trinitarian-like unity that will lead the world to believe Jesus is the Son of God.
Lonnie points out that God has called to pastors to model and teach the church how to live as a unified and diverse church. He explains how the current segregation that dominates most of our churches can be overcome by pastors being cross-racially reconciled to each other and developing a regional view of cooperative ministry. This address concludes with a challenge and great encouragement for pastors to seize this moment in history to make a shift in the life of the church, that will unleash fresh blessings on the church and the world.
In this address, Lonnie inspires us to dream of unity that may seem impossible, and to serve enabled me to speak to the issue of racism with unique insight and sensitivitypeople from unexpected. He reminds us that the Lord has given us effective tools and strategies to have an unimaginable impact on the world. We are not slaves to racial division, because we have been set free in Christ. He declares that we are more than conquerors in Christ and that the same power that raised Jesus from the dead now is at work in us.
The church is called to be a diverse and dynamic group of people, who share a new identity in Christ as one new people. The gospel gives us new eyes to see, new ears to hear, and a new heart to understand our history of racial hostility, our personal pain, and our one true hope for racial reconciliation.
Lonnie's keynote addresses are engaging, biblically insightful, and spoken in love. His address on "Believable Unity" was so well received that it was broadcast nationally on the radio.
Our racial reconciliation workshops are interactive, designed to provide foundational knowledge and to help pastors and groups take concrete action steps of applying the information covered. This means we will discuss the context of your church community and design action steps tailored for your specific needs.
After founding the Racial Reconciliation Network in June 2020, Lonnie had been dedicated to gathering pastors into cross-racial small group cohorts to intentionally build relationships, discuss racial reconciliation, and build new ministry partnerships. Our sessions are highly relational and tailored to the needs of the group for maximum benefit to those attending.
